Welcome to The Homeschool Loop Community! 📚
These are our "house rules" - kind of like co-op guidelines but for our online space. By using The Homeschool Loop, you're agreeing to play nice and follow these rules.
The Golden Rule
Treat others in The Loop like you'd want to be treated at Park Day. Be kind, honest, and helpful.
Who Can Join?
Families: Anyone homeschooling or considering it
Providers: Educators, services, and businesses that serve homeschoolers
Age: You must be 18+ to create an account (or have parent permission if you're a teen entrepreneur)
Your Account Responsibilities
Keep it real: Use your actual name and information
Keep it safe: Don't share your password (even with your kids)
Keep it yours: One account per person/business
Keep it clean: No inappropriate content (this is a family space!)
For Families Using The Loop
✅ DO:
Research providers thoroughly
Read reviews from other families
Ask questions before booking
Report any concerns to us
Share honest reviews after using services
❌ DON'T:
Share other families' personal information
Post false reviews (good or bad)
Use the platform to spam or advertise
Harass providers or other families
For Providers in The Loop
✅ DO:
Be honest about qualifications and experience
Respond to inquiries within 48 hours
Keep your availability updated
Maintain professional standards
Honor your listed rates and policies
❌ DON'T:
Create fake reviews
Contact families for non-service reasons
Misrepresent your credentials
Discriminate against any families
Violate any laws or regulations
Reviews & Ratings
Reviews should be like good book reports - honest, specific, and helpful:
Only review providers you've actually used
Be fair and constructive
No personal attacks
We may remove reviews that violate these guidelines
Payment & Refunds
For Families: The Loop is FREE to browse and connect!
For Providers:
Listing fees are billed monthly
Cancel anytime (like that subscription box you forgot about)
No refunds for partial months
Payments processed securely through Stripe
Content Guidelines
This is a family-friendly space! That means:
No profanity or inappropriate content
No discriminatory language
No spam or excessive self-promotion
No sharing of copyrighted curriculum without permission
Liability (The "Not Our Fault" Section)
We're matchmakers, not supervisors:
We verify providers' basic information
We don't supervise actual services
Always do your own due diligence
We're not responsible for provider-family interactions
Check your own insurance needs
Intellectual Property
Our logo and content belong to us
Your content belongs to you
You give us permission to share your listings/reviews on the platform
Don't copy other people's stuff (just like teaching kids about plagiarism!)
Termination (Breaking Up Is Hard to Do)
We can suspend or terminate accounts that:
Violate these terms repeatedly
Engage in fraudulent activity
Harm our community
Haven't been used in 12+ months
Disclaimers
The Homeschool Loop is provided "as is" - kind of like that used curriculum you bought:
We do our best but can't guarantee perfection
Technology sometimes has bad days
We're not responsible for provider quality
Results may vary (just like with any curriculum!)
Changes to Terms
We might update these terms occasionally (usually to make things better). We'll email you about significant changes - they'll be easier to spot than the answer key your kid is looking for.
Dispute Resolution
If we have a disagreement:
First, let's talk it out like adults (think Matthew 18)
If needed, we'll try mediation
Last resort: arbitration in Louisiana
